After much prayer and discussion, our elders have decided that now is an appropriate time to seek out additional men to serve as elders for this congregation.   To assist us in the selection process, we will be emphasizing the topic of Shepherding in our Sunday morning worship.   This process began on Sunday, May 7^th and will continue next Sunday the 14^th.   In addition, we will be supplying a list of the Scriptural qualifications for elders for you to take home and study.   In the event you need further explanation on any of the qualifications don't hesitate to call the church office or to do your own research from our church library.

An Elder Suggestion Form will be supplied to all of our members on Sunday May 14^th.   Please supply the names of those men you believe to be qualified to serve our congregation as elders.   Please remember, adding church leaders is a very serious business and was NEVER intended to be a "popularity" contest.   We need men who truly exhibit the qualifications God requires His leaders to possess.

As you consider those whom you feel are qualified, please contact them and see whether or not they would be willing to serve.   Once you have written down the names of those men you feel are qualified, return your sheet to one of our Elders by mail or in person by May 28^th.   If you mail your form, write on the envelope: Attention: Elders.   For your form to be considered, it must be signed.

Our present elders will interview the candidates, note the frequency their names appear, consider their Biblical qualifications, and present those who are qualified to serve to the congregation on June 25, 2000.   If there are no Scriptural objections after that date, the candidates will be added to the number of our elders on July 9, 2000.

May God bless our efforts to add more qualified men to serve alongside our existing elders.   May He guide us to those dedicated men who will accept the challenge to serve the Lord and this church.   May we, as a congregation, pray for a successful completion of the selection process and may we be satisfied with the results.
