WHAT ABOUT GOD?

"To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal? Says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing."

Isaiah 40:25-26

Our generation considers themselves to be the most enlightened and educated people ever to walk the face of the earth. We have seen more exciting inventions in our lifetimes than any people in the history of the world. With our advanced technology we are able to learn more about life than anyone has ever known. But, what about God?

More and more people are attempting to eliminate God from the scene. Politicians are warned not to inject "faith" into the political process. Schools are commanded by the Supreme Court not to pray before sporting events. Plaques with the words to the 10 Commandments are being removed from the halls of schools, government buildings, and such like. In spite of all our technology, people have forgotten all about God. When Isaiah wrote, Israel was a sinful people. They had become a Nation of backsliders. Like many Americans today, there was no room for God in their lives. Therefore, God warned them of a terrible judgment He was sending, not only against them, but against the Nations. He reminded them that "He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, . . . He blows on them (sinful Nations) and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff" (Isaiah 40:22-24).

What about God? Who can be compared to Him? (Nobody!) Who created the heavens and all that is in them? (God did!) Who has the knowledge necessary to keep this world going? (Not our technology!) It is my prayer that God, and His Son Jesus Christ, will be honored and praised by those in positions of authority in our country. May He raise up leaders in Congress, and the Supreme Court, and a President that stands in awe of Him. We need leaders who strive to honor His holy name! What about God? He is the everlasting Father! Praise His glorious Name!
