THE SPLENDOR OF GOD'S CREATION!

"What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"

Matthew 8:27

The disciples had just witnessed the mighty power of Jesus in a way they never imagined possible. They were in a huge storm where the weather was so bad they actually thought they were going to die. As the storm grew worse, the disciples found Jesus asleep in the boat. They rebuked Him saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" Matthew 8:25.

Jesus got up, rebuked the winds and the waves and it became completely calm! This amazed the disciples – so much so they uttered the words recorded in Matthew 8:27. They were amazed because even Nature itself was subject to the commandments of Jesus Christ our Lord!

Such a realization will help us to appreciate the beauty of God's creation. Never forget the Lord's mighty power. The Godhead created the world in which we live and they are in complete control. Do you remember what the Lord said to Noah after the Ark came to rest on Mt. Ararat? He said, "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease", Genesis 8:22.

Hilda and I just returned from a drive on Highway 550 through Southwestern Colorado. What we saw was beyond description. The mountains were spectacular with their many Autumn colors. It looked as if someone had somehow spilled tremendous containers of paint onto the trees and hillsides. Awesome! God's handiwork was so beautiful that no human artist could successfully capture the scene. Men would have objected saying, "Not very realistic, my friend." "You have used too many different colors" "This cannot be real."

My toughts were, "How can anyone deny the existence and the power of the Lord our God?" "The heavens declare the glory of God," Psalm 19:1.
