If Thanksgiving is but a day,
My gratitude to God is most sadly lacking.
If I lift up my voice in words of praise,
To thank my Maker,
Only when the calendar says it is
time to do so;
Then I am of all people most to be pitied,
Because I am so blind
three hundred-sixty-four days a year
And have only poor vision on the other.

God is not limited in power;
His blessings pour forth from storehouses
which never run dry.
God is not limited in love;
He lavishes us with proof of caring
and providing beyond all we can ask or dream.
Would that my eyes could always see,
Would that my mind ever comprehend,
The daily banquet table He prepares before me,
in presence of friend and foe alike.

Thanksgiving is not just for a day,
It is not just for a lifetime of days;
Thanksgiving is for all eternity,
for it will take all of eternity
To thank our loving Father and His Son,
For all the blessings
and gifts
and privileges
Which surround us,
Compelling us to sing to the top of our voices,
"Come, Let Us All Unite To Sing, God is Love."
