	DO NOT DISTURB !

Have you ever stayed in a hotel and put out a "Do not Disturb" sign? During a recent trip to Thailand, I noticed an inordinate number of doorknobs with this sign hanging on them. I believe this was due to the fact it was twelve (12) hours later in Thailand than in America and many of the tourists were tired and were experiencing what is commonly called jet lag. All they wanted was some uninterrupted sleep! As I noticed the many signs, I could not but think, "These folks are missing out on a wonderful chance to explore the beautiful country of Thailand!"

How many Christians have hung a "Do Not Disturb!" sign on the doorknob of their hearts? Far too many do not want anyone disturbing them with the changes they need to make in their spiritual walk. They enjoy the life they are living and do not want to be disturbed by having to examine their progress. They are enjoying their "sleep".

It seems such a shame to have embarked upon such a marvelous journey (from death to life) only to have made the decision not to avail oneself of the blessings God has provided. The journey from a fleshly existence to a spiritual is too beautiful to miss.

"Do not Disturb", we cry! "I am tired and I need my rest." What good is it to take a trip if we don't receive any benefits from having made the journey?

Our new pulpit minister has been selected and is in place.
Our new missionary family, Bheki Mamba, from Swaziland, is selected and in place. The Mamba family (Bheki, Edith, Tibusiso, Wakhile, and Thando) will be here Sunday night and will be in our midst for several weeks. See the bulletin board in the front foyer for details on the work they plan to do in Matsupha, Swaziland.
Last Sunday a lesson and announcement concerning the addition of more deacons was presented. The Elders want you to prayerfully consider those men you believe to have the Scriptural qualifications to become deacons (See 1 Timothy 3:8-12) and then submit their names to the Elders next Sunday, January 24th.
This Sunday we will provide a survey sheet for each member of the congregation. The purpose of the sheet is to evaluate the work being done here and to give each member an opportunity to suggest additional areas of work we should be doing. Now that is striving for excellence!

These are exciting times for the Lord's church at Netherwood Park. There are ample opportunities for service. Please be thinking about where YOU would like to serve. If we will all do something, God will turn it into a huge victory for His cause. May I encourage every member to join hands and work together for the building up of the body of Christ here at this place. Let's all strive for excellence in 1999.
