| Lord, Make Me A Servant ! |
Last Sunday's sermon, along with the installation of 13 additional deacons, made for a wonderful day. We now have 29 servant leaders (deacons) to serve this church. We are looking forward to a wonderful year as all of us serve our Lord and Master.
The planning committee met with the Elders last Tuesday and presented the information they gleaned from the planning sheets we did a few weeks ago. This vital information will help us to determine areas of responsibility for all of our deacons. Our elders will be making these assignments as soon as possible. It won't be very long until everything is in place.
Wayne Sharp, a member of the planning committee, will speak to the church this Sunday morning and give more details on what is on the horizon for this congregation. We know many of you are anxious to see things happen around here. Believe me, the elders, deacons, and ministers are ready too! We think you will be pleased with the results of all the prayers, the time, and the effort that is being made to move us forward to greater service.
In the elders meeting Tuesday, it was decided to have a theme for 1999. That theme will be printed in our church bulletin each week and will also be emphasized regularly on Sunday mornings. We hope you will join us by making our theme a reality in your life. Here it is:
It was exciting to have 309 in Bible class last Sunday, and 486 in the worship assembly. Let's crash through the 500 barrier! The contribution was $9155.00! What a wonderful response to our lesson on giving.
