Giving Up My Keys !

One thing I am looking forward to when I get to heaven is giving up my keys!   It seems there are keys to everything!   My trousers get pulled down and the pockets get worn out due to the quantity of keys I must carry.   Won't it be great when we all get to heaven!

You might wonder what brought this tirade about keys to my mind.   Well, it is our new multi-media system cabinet.   It seems it came with eight keys to the four doors that lock up.   It was assumed that all the keys were the same.   So o o o o, some of the folks training to work the system just helped themselves to keys.   Now, I don't have a key to all the doors.

Then to complicate matters, I have one key to the main door that turns on the system.   To date, I have never walked from my office (where the key lives) to the system without having to walk back and get the key!   Boy!   Will I ever be glad to get to heaven where there are no thieves and no need for keys!

On a more serious note.   This week I have been on jury duty.   Tuesday I was on a panel where the judge was picking jurors.   Since it was a criminal case, the judge asked if anyone had experienced having a crime committed against them.   It was startling to see how many people had been burglarized over the course of their lives.   Many had been robbed multiple times.   I, myself, had to report a burglary that occurred some years ago.   In such cases, keys are nice, but they really don't stop a thief from coming into your home and helping himself to your belongings.

Yes, I do look forward to giving up my keys.   For in heaven there is no need.   It is a place with open gates, there is no night there, and we will live in the presence of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.   Let's all be faithful until death so we can go there when we leave this planet!   See you Sunday!
