When David reflected upon God's word, he chose such a great word to reflect the hunger his soul felt for the Word. "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth," wrote the sweet psalmist of Israel.
Honey is a wonderful treat. I'm sure you can remember how satisfying it was to your taste buds over the years. Here are a few things about honey:
Isn't that just like Scripture? Need spiritual energy? Read the word. Feeling a need for satisfaction? Read the word. Need to heal your souls diseases? Read the Word. Once read, it becomes evident that nothing written by man compares to the wonderful word of God.
Pick up a Bible reading guide for 1999 and read every word of the Bible during the New Year! I'm sure you will agree with King David and conclude that God's word is sweeter than honey to your taste!
