The Attraction

What is the attraction?
Lord, my heart feels drawn
To something better
Than myself.
I want to know
That my life counts.

Yet I cannot
Sing sweetly enough,
Work hard enough, nor
Love deeply enough
By myself.

So what is the attraction?
Is it that You have something
I do not possess?
Is it the realization
That, in You,
I am made whole?
Is it the understanding
That what I seek
Can only be found
In You?

Then, I beg You,
Take me.
Break my spirit.
Make me Yours.
Live in me
So that others see
Your glory and know
You are the attraction.
