Thailand for the Savior

Do You Want to Be a Part of
the Mission Field ?

YOU   CAN   !
By helping to build a
Training & Resource Center
in Bangkok, Thailand.

Meet the hard working missionary and his family.

Since his baptism in1970, Patinya Thitathan has been a faithful servant of the Lord.   While attending Bangkok Engineering School he met his future wife, Penjai.   After she became a Christian, the two of them began to make decisions that would lead them to become full-time workers of the Lord.

After one year in Saudi Arabia, Patinya and Penjai were married.   They immediately traveled to America to attend the Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas.   After graduation, they moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where Patinya worked for the Midtown church of Christ teaching the Gospel of Christ to Lao refugees.   During this time he also worked as an instructor in the Thai-Lao School of Preaching.

In 1988, after 10 years in the United States, their dream to return to Thailand was fulfilled.   The Thitathan family returned to Bangkok to spread the Gospel in their native land and in their native tongue.

Patinya called his dream, Thailand For The Savior.   For the past 13 years, this work has included involvement in the Ramkhamhaeng Campus Ministry, working with the church of Christ at Somprasong 4, and travel to village churches.   It has truly been a multi-faceted work that has borne much fruit for the cause of Christ.

After much prayer and discussion, a new congregation has been planted in Bangkok, Thailand.   In a city of 12 million people, it is vital to increase our efforts to reach the masses of people who do not know Christ.

About 40 people from the Somprosong 4 church will be the nucleus for this group.   The elders and members of Somprasong 4 have given their blessing to this effort and they stand firmly behind the plan to begin a new congregation.   The commitment of the Thai brethren is evident as seen by the following events:
  • Land valued at $500,000 US dollars has been donated by a Thai sister.
  • A donation of $11,000 US dollars was made by the new group so they could immediately build a kitchen, restrooms and one classroom on a temporary site close to the land.
  • The new church fully supports a minister, Surapon Srisuthum.

WHAT IS THE TRAINING AND RESOURCE CENTER ?

Bible Training.   This will include a Bible training center that will train a maximum of 20 students over the course of two years.   The students are individuals who have come to know Jesus and need grounding and leadership training.

Facilities.   In order for students to study for 2 years, dormitories will be required.   This is greatly needed if the training program is to be a success.   A kitchen will be included as well as, a library, workroom, offices, and classrooms for study.

Education Materials.  Plans are to produce Bible commentaries, study guides, tapes, and other pertinent study aids to assist the growth of Thai Christians throughout the country.

Outreach.   The Watcharapon church plans to be very active in spreading the Gospel to th lost, not only in Thailand but in neighboring countries (such as Laos).   They plan to broadcast a daily Bible lesson into Communist Laos beginning January 1, 2001.

Outreach program include trips to village churches to preach and encourage.   Leadership training will be provided for members of the church throughout the country.   Youth camps and family seminars will be an important part of the work of this church.
