Thailand for the Savior

The Church in Bangkok is Currently Raising Money
to build a Training & Resource Center

A small church destined to do great things in the name of Jesus Christ.
After much prayer and discussion, a new congregation has been planted in Bangkok, Thailand.   In a city of 12 million people, ith is vital to increase our efforts to reach the masses of people who do not know Christ.

About 40 people from the Somprosong 4 church will be the nucleus for this group.   The elders and members of Somprasong 4 have given their blessing to this effort and they stand firmly behind the plan to begin a new congregation.   The commitment of the Thai brethren is evident as seen by the following events:

  • Land valued at $500,000 US dollars has been donated by a Thai sister.
  • A donation of $11,000 US dollars was made by the new group so they could immediately build a kitchen, restrooms and one classroom on a temporary site close to the land.
  • The new church fully supports a minister, Surapon Srisuthum.

We're well on the way !
Won't you please help ?

The Watcharapon congregation in Bangkok, Thailand has acquired a beautiful and expensive piece of property and wishes to build a Resource & Training Center on it.   The building would be complimentary to, larger, and adjacent to the one pictured above.   The congregation would be better able to assist in the evangelizing of Ramkhamhaeng University which has over 100,000 students actively enrolled.

Patinya Thitathan has led this effort by the church in Thailand to establish, grow, and strengthen congregations of the church of Christ throughout Thailand.   He is a well respected teacher and minister dedicating his life fully to this work.   He has followed in the footsteps of, helped, and been helped by such men as Parker Henderson, Tommy Allison, Ken Fox, Loren Hollingsworth, George Carman, Ron Johnson, and others over the years.   All of them dedicated to speading the Gospel of Jesus Christ among these people.

Now that the fruits of his (& their) labor are starting to be manifold, this facility would help give the Church another tool they need to do the work set out before them.   Patinya recognises the need to train the Thai-Christians to be leaders, teachers, and evangelists in their country without leaving it.   The center will also show this group of Christians to be a people able to give back to, and contribute to the well being of this predominately Buddhist country and community.

The cost to build and furnish the center is about $115,215 (USD) which can also be stated as $25 (USD) per square foot.   About 42% of the funds have already been raised and your help is needed to finish this facility.   If you would like to help in this effort, by donating a "Square Foot" ($25) toward the completion of this project, please fill out and submit the form below.

Please state level of commitment in the Comments field that you would like to give.   Remember that $25 (USD) will pay for one square foot of this much needed building.

A gift of $250 or more will be responded to with a letter which accknowledges your gift in a format acceptable by the IRS, so that if you are a resident of the United States, you can deduct your gift as a charitable contribution when filing your income tax papers.
